New Magazine Editor Takes Helm

Captain Pat Horrigan of Tropic Bay Guides has another project to helm.
At the request of publisher Gary Poyssick, Capt. Pat Horrigan will now be the fly fishing magazine editor for The Online Fisherman Magazine. The Online Fisherman Magazine is several magazines in one that covers all forms of fishing including freshwater and saltwater angling. The magazine features information about offshore, inshore, flats fishing, coastal kayak fishing, heavy tackle, light tackle and fly fishing which is where Capt. Pat comes in.
Capt. Pat Horrigan has been fly fishing for over 40 years and specializes in saltwater flats sight fishing in central west Florida. He is also an accomplished photographer and writer who relaxes’ by tying some unique fly patterns for his operation.
“I am really looking forward to this. With the transition from print to online content, a greater readership is available but more importantly this media allows for greater creativity in content. The magazine speaks to all ages and skill levels. I believe the magazine will surprise many readers and advertisers as well. This is a new chapter in my life and I am sure it will be great fun for all.”
Captain Pat operates Tropic Bay Guides Fly Fishing Service which is a multi boat sight fishing outfitter and guide service. The captain also has his hand in The Kayak Fishing ClassicS which is an open national kayak fishing tournament series conducted along the Coastal Gulf States. Capt. Pat is also working on a book about fly fishing the flats and of making the transition form freshwater to saltwater fly fishing. “There is a hilarious story about my making the transition to saltwater that I won’t go into here. I will say that it is more difficult than one may think. I however was fortunate to have a great mentor who got me over the hump without too much trauma.”
Although he has been approached, he will not become involved in making TV fishing shows. He enjoys them and respects the work greatly but does not have the time that it would demand of him. He admires and appreciates such people, some are friends, like Flip Pallot, Doug Hannon, Jose Wejebe, Chico Fernandez, Lefty Kreh, Tom Brokaw and Cliff Martin for the work that they have done in the sport and in journalism. TheOnelineFisherman is getting a very well connected mega talent in the world of saltwater fly fishing.
